1. The amount of deposit to contest in a Grama Panchayat Election shall be forfeited if :
A the number of votes polled by him does not exced half of the total number of votes polled by all the candidates
B the number of votes polled by him does not exced one-fifth of the total number of votes polled by all the candidates
C the number of votes polled by him does not exced one-sixth of the total number of votes polled by all the candidates
D the number of votes polled by him does not exced one-fourth of the total number of votes polled by all the candidates
